Weber Genesis 320: The Weber S320 Stainless Grill

Well folks, the summer grill season is looming around the corner here in North America and I thought I'd take a few moments to go over one of my favorites, the Weber Genesis 320. The Weber s320 Stainless steel grill occupies a nice little niche somewhere between "middle of the road" and "super nice". Of course, the fact it is a Weber helps push it into the "super nice" category.

What makes this grill worth considering at $900 bucks or so? Quite a lot as it turns out. For starters you get Weber's product warranty which stretches from 5 years to as high as 25 years depending on the part. I can also tell you from experience that if you do have a problem, their customer service is second to none and does not suffer from the "outsourcing" issue that many consumer products companies have gotten into trouble with. They stand by their product, and make it easy on you, the consumer, to get things right if you have a problem.

So you've got fairly good cooking acreage on this unit, about 507 square inches in a fully enclosed stainless steel cart. That 507 square inches comes with about 130 sq inches of warming area for a total cook area of 637 square inches pumping out about 42,000 BTU's. Some minor assembly is required for the 12,000 BTU flush mount side burner that can also hold a side dish or two.

What struck me about the unit is that it heats up very fast, around 10 minutes or so to start searing burgers or steaks, and has excellent precision control on the knobs for adjusting heat at the high or low end. Any true griller knows that this precision control in the knobs is key to going from a "good" piece of meat to an "excellent" piece of meat. In terms of looks, your neighbor will definitely notice you are taking the prettiest girl to the prom when you wheel it out on your deck. The stainless finish looks great and the cabinet allows you to hide all the other stuff underneath behind those fancy steel doors. Keep in mind that you also can add a whole lot of other accessories to this unit to customize it to your liking.

I hope this review of the Weber S320 gives you a little insight and information into exactly the kind of unit you can expect if you decide to go with one of the higher quality grills on the market.
