Cooking Appetizers On Your Outdoor Kitchen Grill

Your outdoor kitchen grill is not just for steaks, chicken and burgers. You can also cook tasty appetizers such as mini pizzas, mini tacos, buffalo wings and potato skins on the grill. Often times they taste better coming of the grill than if you prepared them in the oven. The big difference with cooking them on the grill is that you will have a much hotter heat to work with, so you'll want to make sure you monitor them with a close eye, place them on the upper rack and use some oil on the grills cooking surface to keep them from burning.

A great tool that can be very useful for making appetizers is the grill topper. You can find a grill topper at any hardware and department store. You can use it as a tray and transfer everything to the preheated grill at once. When the food is cooked, just remove the grill topper and serve.

The secret to cooking great appetizers, is to do as much of the preparation as possible in advance. You can prepare most of them the day before. The pizzas, buffalo wings and potato skins will only require just a little heating on the grill before they're ready to serve up.

You will want to match up the appetizers to the meal you are serving. If you are grilling steak, a great appetizer that will go nicely with it is the potato skins. If you're making burgers right before a big ball game, you can grill up some buffalo wings to go with them. There's nothing like having some tasty buffalo wings with ranch dressing to go with those thick juicy burgers that are coming off the grill.

Beef or chicken kabobs are another delicious appetizer to serve if you prepare them the night before. You'll want to use a good cut of roast. Then you'll cut that meat into 1 inch cubes. Put the one inch cubes in a dish with some thousand island dressing and let it soak overnight. The following day, cut up red and green peppers, mushrooms and sweet onion and stick them on metal skewers. They will cook in a few minutes and be ready for all to enjoy.

If you plan on using a charcoal grill for your appetizers, then you should probably use a two or three level fire. A level three fire is best if your making foods like mini pizzas.
